MetaStock Data Feed

Advanced Xmaster-format data feed, compatible with MetaStock 8 and later.

Our MetaStock data feed utilizes the Xmaster format, supporting up to 6,000 stocks per folder. Introduced with MetaStock 8, this format remains fully compatible with the latest MetaStock versions and other software capable of reading this database structure.

Key Features:

  • Exchange Data: Includes exchange codes (3 to 6 characters) and exchange nicknames (up to 9 characters).
  • Sector Sorting: Comes with sector grouping numbers for easy classification of stocks.
  • Broad Data Coverage: Allows charting for multiple exchanges, as listed in the All Data Feeds section.
  • Automated Updates: The AutoUpdate utility ensures seamless downloading and updating of historic data.
  • Data Maintenance: Full automated additions/renames/deletions/splits/consolidations/corrections, as listed in the All Data Feeds section.
  • Version Compatibility:
    • MetaStock Version 8 to 11 supported.
    • MetaStock Version 12 is not supported, as it does not read locally stored data.
    • MetaStock 15 (and later) introduced MSlocal, but continues to support Xmaster (Legacy) data.
  • USA/UK & JSE Market Handling:
    • Due to the 6,000-stock limit per folder, these data feeds are split into two/three folders.
    • Usually they are listed combined in your software.
